Guess the Country on Quizebra

Guess the Country round 1 of 5: a country outline in mint among grey neighbours and black sea, a timer at 15.4 seconds and four country options

Guess the Country is a daily map quiz on Quizebra. Each of the day's five countries appears as a cropped outline that widens over twenty seconds; you pick it from four options, and your score is your total time.

About Guess the Country by Its Shape (Quizebra)

Guess the Country is one of Quizebra's free daily geography challenges. Every day brings five maps for everyone, running from an easy tier with large countries to a hard one with microstates. There is no flag, capital or label: just the country in mint, its neighbours in grey and the sea in black.

Most countries open on about half their width, the twelve largest on about a quarter, and the forty smallest are whole from the start, with their surroundings filling in as the map pulls back. You tap one of four options, usually neighbours from the same region. A wrong pick costs ten seconds and zooms the map further out; an unsolved round counts twenty. Your score is the total time for the five, so lower is better.

Outlines come from Natural Earth border data in the Web Mercator projection, so shapes look as they do on Google Maps. It is free, with no account and no ads, and practice rounds stay open after the daily.

It suits Worldle players who want a quicker, timed round with multiple choice instead of distance clues.

How to play Guess the Country by Its Shape (Quizebra)

  1. Open Guess the Country and press Start Playing.
  2. Watch the cropped outline widen over twenty seconds.

  5. Finish all five maps and compare your total time on the daily leaderboard.

Tips

  • Read the four names first: the options come from one region, so you only need to tell four neighbours apart.
  • A shape that is whole in the first frame is one of the forty smallest countries.
  • Avoid hunch guesses: the ten-second penalty is worth more than a second or two saved.
