Daily Wood Block Puzzle is a block-placing game on an 8x8 grid made to look like light wood. Three pieces wait in a tray below the board; you drag each one onto the grid, and any row or column you fill completely clears away and scores. Clearing several lines at once earns bonus points. When none of the pieces in the tray fit anywhere, the run is over.

The daily part is the Daily Puzzle. Everyone who plays on a given day gets the same blocks, so the only difference between two scores is where the pieces went. Results go on a daily high score leaderboard, and the app also uses Game Center leaderboards on iOS.

The game is by Appsurd, the studio of developer Tristan Nottelman, and came out on the App Store in November 2023, with a Google Play version alongside it. Updates since then have added new level types. Besides the daily run there are four level modes, from easy to very hard, with goals such as collecting gems or clearing bombs before their counter runs out, and a classic mode that goes on as long as you can keep the board open.

It suits players who like Woodoku-style block games and want one fair, shared run a day to compare. The app is free and shows ads.

How to play Daily Wood Block Puzzle

1. Open the app and choose the Daily Puzzle.
2. Drag one of the three blocks in the tray onto the 8x8 grid.
3. Fill a whole row or column to clear it and score points.
4. Clear several rows or columns with one placement for bonus points.
5. Keep placing pieces until none of them fit; your score then goes on the day's leaderboard.

Tips

• Keep a 3x3 area and long straight gaps open, since the big square and long bar pieces are the hardest to fit.
• Look at all three pieces in the tray before placing the first, so the last one still has room.
• Set up lines that cross, so one block can clear a row and a column together for the bonus.
