Anybody Problem

Clear a run of orbiting, gravity-bound bodies as fast as you can, with a new set every day.

Every day: A new run of levels every day, generated from the date, the same for every player, with each day's fastest runs recorded on a leaderboard. New puzzle: Midnight UTC: the game's day number is the current time rounded down to a whole UTC day.

Anybody Problem is a browser game about bodies pulling on each other in space. Each day brings a fresh run of levels built from that day's seed, and your times go on a daily leaderboard. Runs are recorded on a blockchain, so a wallet is part of the site, alongside the game itself.

About Anybody Problem

Anybody Problem is a browser game that calls itself a daily puzzle-shooter. It is built by Trifle, a small studio that runs several web games, and takes its name from the three-body problem in physics: a handful of bodies drift around the screen pulling on one another by gravity, so their paths curve and swing in ways that are hard to predict.

Each day's problem is generated from the date, so every player faces the same set of levels. Your job in each level is to blast the BADDIES that come into orbit with missiles you fire across the screen, without hitting the friendly bodies, before the clock runs out. Because everything is moving under gravity, aiming means leading your shot and timing it; you can cancel a missile in flight by firing again. Clearing the levels solves the day's problem, and you can replay it as many times as you like before tomorrow's arrives.

What makes it different is that it is fully on-chain. The game is open source, and a solved run can be proved and saved to the Base blockchain from a crypto wallet, which puts your time on the daily leaderboard and gives you that day's celestial body as a collectible. A weekly competition ranks players on the fastest average of three daily wins, with prizes paid out on-chain.

It suits players who enjoy short physics-based arcade challenges and racing the clock, and in particular those already comfortable with crypto wallets, since the leaderboard and rewards depend on one. You can play in the browser without saving your result.

How to play Anybody Problem

  1. Open anybody.gg to load the day's problem.
  2. Watch how the bodies orbit and pull on each other.
  3. Aim and fire missiles at the BADDIES, leading your shots to allow for gravity; fire again to cancel a shot.
  4. Clear every level before time is up, avoiding the friendly bodies.
  5. Connect a wallet if you want to save your win to the leaderboard and collect the day's body.

Tips

  • Watch a full orbit before shooting: the bodies' paths repeat enough to show where a target will be.
  • Cancel a missile that is clearly going to miss and take the shot again rather than waiting it out.
  • Replay the day's problem to learn the levels before saving a fast run.

Questions

Do I need a crypto wallet?

Not to play. A wallet is needed to save a win to the on-chain leaderboard, collect the day's celestial body and compete in the weekly ranking.

Is the puzzle the same for everyone?

Yes. Each day's levels are generated from the date, so all players face the same problem.

Can I replay the daily problem?

Yes. You can replay it as many times as you like until the next day's problem appears.

Who makes it?

Trifle, whose code for the game is published on GitHub.
