Daily Match is a match-3 game for Android built around a daily newspaper. Each day brings a fresh set of levels that every player in the world gets in the same form, so the leaderboard compares everyone on equal terms. You swap pieces to meet each level's goals within a set number of moves, keep a streak going and pick a side in the morning's Daily Dilemma.

About Daily Match

Daily Match is a free match-3 game on Google Play, listed under the developer name Block Connect. Its story follows Ana Krox, a young reporter, and Larry, a long-serving news anchor, and each day you help them put out a new edition of their paper by clearing puzzle levels.

The daily part is the heart of it. Every day the game serves a new set of levels, and the store listing says they are the same for every player in the world. You climb through the day's levels as far as you can, and a global leaderboard ranks everyone on those shared levels. Missing a day breaks your streak, but the game lets you earn it back.

A level shows its goals at the top (a number of a given piece or obstacle to clear) and a move counter. You swap neighbouring pieces to line up three or more of a colour, and bigger matches make power-ups such as rockets and spinning blades that clear rows and areas. Skills add another layer: you unlock them as Ana's career grows, build a loadout, and get one free Skill of the Day.

Each morning the Daily Dilemma poses one question with two answers. You pick a side, play the day with your team's skill, and the next day the game shows which side most players chose.

It suits players who like casual match-3 games but want a reason to come back each day and a fair comparison with everyone else. It is on Android only, is free to install and has in-app purchases; the listing also says it can be played without Wi-Fi.

How to play Daily Match

  1. Install Daily Match from Google Play and open today's edition.
  2. Read the level's goals at the top left and the number of moves at the top right.
  3. Swap two neighbouring pieces to line up three or more of the same colour.
  4. Make matches of four or more to create power-ups, and swap or tap them to clear larger areas.
  5. Use your equipped skills, including the free Skill of the Day, when a level gets tight.
  6. Clear as many of the day's levels as you can, then compare your place on the daily leaderboard.
  7. Answer the Daily Dilemma to join a team, and check the next day which side won.

Tips

  • Look at the goals before your first move: clearing the counted obstacles matters more than a big cascade elsewhere.
  • Save power-ups for the corners and walled-off areas that ordinary matches cannot reach.
  • Try the free Skill of the Day before spending coins on others; it may suit the day's levels.
  • Play each day to keep your streak, since everyone faces the same levels and the leaderboard resets with the edition.

Questions

Is Daily Match the same for everyone?

Yes. The store listing says each day's set of levels is the same for every player in the world, which is what makes the daily leaderboard comparable.

Is Daily Match on iPhone?

Only an Android version on Google Play could be found.

Does Daily Match cost anything?

It is free to install and offers in-app purchases.

What is the Daily Dilemma?

A question posed each morning with two answers. You choose a side, play that day with your team's skill, and see the next day which side most players picked.
