ZAPZIPZAP
Zip and zap through a scrolling maze of slashes without tangling yourself up.
Every day: A new maze of forward and backward slashes every day from the day's seed, the same for everyone, played for a high score in Action and Puzzle modes. New puzzle: Once a day; the title screen counts down to the next daily maze.

ZAPZIPZAP is a small retro arcade game in the style of the Commodore 64. You steer a trail through a maze made of alternating forward and backward slashes, trying not to tangle yourself or fall off the scrolling screen. A new maze is built from each day's seed, and you chase a high score in Action and Puzzle modes.
About ZAPZIPZAP
ZAPZIPZAP is a browser game by SebZanardo, released under the name ZEN, with sound by huthuthunter. It is made with raylib and drawn in the blue and yellow-green palette of a Commodore 64, with chunky ASCII-style lettering, and its source code is public on GitHub.
The playfield is a maze built from diagonal slashes, some leaning forward and some backward, like the classic 10 PRINT pattern. You move through it, leaving a trail, and the aim is to get as far as you can without tangling yourself up in your own path or letting the screen scroll you off. Your score counts up on the side of the screen.
The title screen shows today's seed and a countdown to the next daily maze, so every player gets the same maze each day. There are two ways to play it: Action mode, marked with a stopwatch, and Puzzle mode, marked with a jigsaw piece, each with its own best score.
It can be played with the arrow keys, WASD or the mouse on a computer, and with swipes and taps on a phone or tablet. It suits people who like short retro arcade runs with a fresh layout each day.
How to play ZAPZIPZAP
- Open the itch.io page and choose Action (stopwatch) or Puzzle (jigsaw piece) on the title screen.
- Steer through the maze of slashes with the arrow keys or WASD, or by swiping on a touch screen.
- Keep moving without tangling yourself in your own trail.
- Stay ahead of the scrolling screen so you are not pushed off it.
- Try to beat your best score; a new maze arrives when the countdown on the title screen ends.

Tips
- The maze is the same all day, so a second attempt lets you plan around the parts that caught you.
- Look a few slashes ahead: the direction each slash leans decides where your path can turn.
- Try both modes; each keeps its own best score for the day's maze.
