ToonTone daily round 1 of 5: Match Truffles's mushroom hat spots from Chowder, a drawing of the character beside hue, saturation and brightness sliders, with a countdown to the next daily set

ToonTone is a daily colour memory game on dle.wtf. Each round names a part of a cartoon character, such as Truffles' mushroom hat spots from Chowder, and you mix its original colour with hue, saturation and brightness sliders. Five rounds make a daily set, scored as an average out of 10.

About ToonTone (dle.wtf)

ToonTone tests how well you remember the colours of cartoon characters. Each round shows a simplified vector portrait and names one part to paint. You set the colour family with the hue slider, move from grey to vivid with saturation and from dark to light with brightness, then submit to compare your colour with the original. Each round scores up to 10 points.

If you are stuck, a hint describes the colour but caps the round at 8 out of 10, and Skip reveals the answer for no points. After five rounds you get an average and a share card that contains no character names or answers.

The daily set changes at midnight UTC, and everyone gets the same five characters. Finishing all five rounds at any score counts a day toward your streak. Unlimited mode lets you keep playing without affecting streaks. This is the dle.wtf (Playdle) edition, with its own portraits and reference palettes; progress stays in the browser.

How to play ToonTone (dle.wtf)

  1. Open dle.wtf/toontone and press Play today.
  2. Read which character and which part you need to colour.
  3. Move the Hue, Saturation and Brightness sliders until the colour matches your memory.
  4. Submit to see the original colour and your score out of 10.
  5. Finish all five characters for your daily average, then share it.

Tips

  • Set hue first; a wrong colour family costs more than slightly wrong brightness.
  • Cartoon colours are usually more saturated than you remember, so push saturation up.
  • Save the hint for the round you have no idea about; it still allows 8 out of 10.
