ColorGuesser
Read a colour name, find it on the wheel, five times a day.
Every day: Five colour names a day, the same for everyone worldwide, each matched on a colour wheel and scored out of 100. New puzzle: Once a day; the site does not state the time.

ColorGuesser shows you five colour names a day, such as Mango Tango or Palatinate Blue, and asks you to pick each one on a colour wheel. Each guess scores up to 100 points by how close it looks to the real colour, for 500 in all.
About ColorGuesser
ColorGuesser is a small daily colour game made by Kiru, an independent developer who says it began as a weekend experiment in how well people can name colours from memory.
Each daily puzzle has five rounds. You see a colour name taken from an open-source database of colour names, choose the shade you think it is on a colour wheel, then reveal the real one. Your score for the round, up to 100, comes from the CIE94 colour difference, a measure of how different two colours look to the human eye. The daily puzzle is the same for everyone worldwide, so scores can be compared and shared.
Some names are obvious and some are strange, which is much of the fun. Beyond the daily, there is an Opposite mode where you pick the complementary colour, an Infinite mode for practice, and a set of free colour tools for designers.
It suits designers, painters and anyone who likes testing their eye in a couple of minutes.
How to play ColorGuesser
- Open colorguesser.com and start the daily puzzle.
- Read the colour name and choose the shade you think it is on the colour wheel.
- Press Reveal to see the real colour and your score out of 100.
- Play all five rounds, then share your total out of 500.
Tips
- Names often hint at an object (a fruit, a stone, a flower): picture it before you pick.
- Get the hue right first, then adjust lightness and saturation.
- Practise in Infinite mode to learn how the strange names map to colours.
Questions
Is the daily puzzle the same for everyone?
Yes. The site says the Daily is one puzzle per day, the same for everyone worldwide.
How is the score worked out?
With CIE94, a colour difference formula that matches how people perceive differences. The closer your guess, the more points.
Can I play more than once a day?
Yes, in Infinite mode, which does not affect the daily.
