Every day: Five new target colours each day, drawn from the date, so everyone who plays on the same date gets the same five shades. Each round gives less time to study and a longer interruption before you rebuild it. New puzzle: Not stated; the colours are picked by the date on your device, so a new set arrives at your local midnight..

Afterimage is a daily colour memory game from Bludle. Each day you get five colours: study one briefly, wait while it vanishes, then rebuild it with red, green and blue sliders and see how close you came. The study time shrinks each round, and a shareable score and streak bring you back the next day.
About Afterimage
Afterimage is a colour memory test on Bludle, a site of free browser games. It plays in any modern browser with nothing to download and no account to make.
A day's game is five rounds. In each one a single colour fills the screen for a few seconds, with its values hidden. Then it disappears, and in later rounds a burst of other colours flickers past before you are allowed to answer. Finally you get a grey swatch and three sliders for red, green and blue, with no time limit, and you mix the shade you think you saw. Revealing the match puts the target and your answer side by side with the exact values and the difference in each channel.
The first round gives you five seconds to look and no interruption. Each round after it takes half a second off the study time and makes the interruption longer, so the fifth colour is the hardest to keep. Your accuracy for each round and your average for the day are kept, along with days played, your best day and a streak.
Most daily colour games ask you to match a colour you can still see, or to guess a hex code. Afterimage takes the reference away, so what it tests is how well you hold a shade in mind, and how its warmth and brightness drift once it is gone. It suits anyone who liked Dialed's colour game and wants a short, five-colour version once a day.
How to play Afterimage
- Open Afterimage and press Show me the colour to begin the first round.
- Study the colour while the countdown runs; note how warm, bright and strong it is, since no numbers are shown.
- Keep the colour in mind while it disappears and, from round two on, while other colours flash on the screen.
- Move the red, green and blue sliders, or type values, until the swatch matches the colour you remember. There is no timer at this stage.
- Press Reveal the match to see the target beside your mix, the difference in each channel and your accuracy.
- Play all five rounds, then share your daily result or check your statistics.

Tips
- Name the colour to yourself while you study it, for example a dull blue-green a little darker than mid-grey; words survive the interruption better than the picture does.
- Set brightness first by moving all three sliders together, then shift the balance between channels to find the hue.
- Later rounds give less time to look, so spend the first second on the hue and the rest on how light and how saturated it is.
Questions
When does Afterimage get new colours?
The five colours are picked from the date on your device, so a new set arrives at your local midnight. The game does not state a fixed reset hour.
Does everyone get the same colours?
Yes, for the same date. The colours come from the day's date rather than at random, so players on the same date study and rebuild the same five shades.
How is Afterimage scored?
After each round it compares your mix with the target in the red, green and blue channels. Smaller differences give a higher accuracy percentage, and the day's score is the average of the five rounds.
Do I need an account?
No. It is free, plays in the browser and keeps your history and streak on your own device.
