Sumrex (MinCalc)
Rate itQueens with a sum: one rex per row, column and region, and their digits must hit the target.
Every day: One 6x6 board of digits a day with a target sum, the same for every player on that date, with hints for the day and earlier boards in an archive. New puzzle: Midnight UTC.

Sumrex is MinCalc's daily Queens-style puzzle with a twist. On a 6x6 grid of digits in six colour regions, you place one rex per row, column and region, none touching, so that the six digits under them add up to the day's target.
About Sumrex (MinCalc)
Sumrex takes the placement rules of Queens and adds arithmetic. The 6x6 board is filled with digits and split into six colour regions. You must place exactly six rexes: one in every row, one in every column, one in every region, and no two touching, not even at a corner. On top of that, the digits under your six rexes must add up to the target shown above the grid.
The two constraints work together. Row, column and region rules narrow the board as in any Queens puzzle, while the sum caps how large any one rex's digit can be: if five rows have small minimums, the sixth must be low too, and that crosses out whole stretches of cells. Every published board has exactly one answer and can be solved by forced moves alone.
You tap a cell once to cross it out and again to place a rex. Check names which rule is broken without saying which rex is wrong, or says how far off the sum is, and each Check counts on your shareable result. A new board goes live at 00:00 UTC, the same worldwide, and past boards since April 2026 are in the archive.
It is for Queens players who want one more layer of deduction, and it sits beside MinCalc's other dailies such as Quackle.

Tips
- Use the sum early: if the smallest digits in five rows already total close to the target, the sixth rex must be small.
- Every placed rex rules out its row, its column, its region and all eight cells around it.
- Checks count against your score, so cross out what you can before you press it.
