Pinplot
Rate itPlace one star in every row, column and colour region, with no two stars touching.
Every day: One numbered Star Battle grid a day (Puzzle #10 on Wed 7 Oct 2026), the same board for everyone, unlocking at local midnight; the grid grows from 5x5 on Monday to 8x8 at the weekend, with a par time for three stars. New puzzle: Midnight, local time.

Pinplot is puzlo's daily Star Battle. Each day brings one grid split into coloured regions, the same for everyone, and you place a star so that every row, column and region holds exactly one and no two stars touch. Grids start at 5x5 on Monday and grow to 8x8 by the weekend, and your time is measured against a par.
About Pinplot
Pinplot is one of three small daily puzzles from puzlo, beside Inkflood and Dripline. It uses the rules of a one-star Star Battle, the same family of grid as LinkedIn's Queens: the board is cut into coloured regions, and you must place stars so that every row, every column and every region has exactly one, with no two stars next to each other, diagonals included.
You tap a cell once to cross it out, a second time to place a star and a third time to clear it. Two stars that break a rule turn red. Each puzzle has exactly one answer, and the game says it can always be reached by logic without guessing. Undo and Clear sit under the board.
A new daily grid unlocks at midnight in your own time zone, numbered and dated, and everyone gets the same one. The size follows the week: 5x5 on Monday, growing through the days to 8x8 on Saturday and Sunday. The clock starts at your first tap and pauses if you leave the page, and finishing inside the par time for that size earns three stars. Your streak and statistics stay in your browser.
Beyond the daily there are unlimited practice boards in four sizes, with hints, and an archive of missed days. The game is free in any browser with no account, and it carries ads. It suits players who already solve Queens every morning and want a second grid that starts small and builds through the week.
How to play Pinplot
- Open Pinplot on puzlo.fun; today's numbered grid loads with its size and par time.
- Tap a cell once to mark an X where no star can go, twice to place a star, three times to clear it.
- Place exactly one star in each row, each column and each coloured region.
- Keep stars apart: no two may touch, not even at a corner.
- Finish the grid; the clock and par decide how many stars you earn, and the archive holds days you missed.

Tips
- Start with the smallest region: its star has only two or three places to go, which often clears a row or column.
- After placing a star, cross out its row, its column, its region and the eight cells around it.
- If every open cell of a region lies in one row, that row's star must be in the region, so cross out the rest of the row.
- Monday's 5x5 is a good place to learn the moves before the 8x8 weekend grids.
