Every day: A new Star Battle level each day in three sizes, 6x6, 8x8 and 10x10, one star per row, column and island; a date picker opens other days' boards. New puzzle: Once a day; each board is filed under its date.

Daily Star Battle is Solitaire.org's free browser version of the star-placing logic puzzle. Each day brings a new board in three sizes, 6x6, 8x8 and 10x10, where you put one star in every row, column and outlined island without any two stars touching. It is ad free, and you can print the day's puzzle or pick another date.
About Daily Star Battle (Solitaire.org)
Solitaire.org is a long-running site of free browser games, mostly card games and mahjong, and Daily Star Battle is one of its logic puzzles. The rules are the one-star kind: every row, every column and every outlined island must hold exactly one star, and no two stars may sit next to each other, across or diagonally.
Each day the game offers a new level, and you choose the size you want: 6x6, 8x8 or 10x10. The bigger boards are harder and take longer, so a day can be three puzzles if you play every size. The date shows beside a timer, and clicking the date lets you pick other days' boards of the same size. A Print button makes a paper copy of today's puzzle.
You click a cell once to drop a grey dot, twice to place a star and a third time to clear it. The dots are only notes; you win by placing every star correctly. Buttons let you undo, pause, restart and switch to full screen, and the game stores your time and number of moves in your browser. It can also be installed as a web app, and both ways of playing are ad free.
It suits players who like LinkedIn's Queens and want the same idea with plain outlined islands instead of colours, at a size of their choosing.
How to play Daily Star Battle (Solitaire.org)
- Open Daily Star Battle and pick a grid size: 6x6, 8x8 or 10x10.
- Click a cell once for a grey dot, twice for a star, three times to clear it.
- Place one star in every row, column and outlined island.
- Keep stars from touching, even diagonally.
- Finish the board, then refresh to try another size or click the date for another day.
Tips
- Start with the smallest island; it has the fewest places for its star.
- Each star rules out its row, its column and its eight neighbours: dot them all.
- Try the 6x6 first if the rules are new to you.
