Star Battle Puzzles
Rate itA daily 10x10 Star Battle: two stars in every row, column and region, none touching.
Every day: One new 10x10 two-star Star Battle every day at midnight US Eastern, the same board for everyone; each past daily stays playable in the archive at its own link. New puzzle: Midnight US Eastern Time.

Star Battle Puzzles posts one 10x10 two-star Star Battle a day, the format the New York Times sells as Two Not Touch. You place two stars in every row, column and bold region without any two stars touching. Past dailies wait in an archive, and a library of boards from 5x5 to 14x14 is there for more.
About Star Battle Puzzles
Star Battle Puzzles is a free browser site built around one grid logic puzzle. The board is divided into bold regions, and you place stars so that every row, every column and every region holds the required number, with no two stars in neighbouring cells, diagonals included. On the daily 10x10 board that number is two.
The daily is published at midnight US Eastern and is the same for every player. If you miss a day, it stays in the archive at a permanent link dated to its day. The site says each board is generated and then checked by a solver so that it has exactly one solution reachable by deduction, so there is always a next move to find.
You tap a cell once to mark it with an X, twice for a star and a third time to clear it, and you can drag to paint X's across cells. An optional Auto-X marks the cells a new star rules out, and an Errors toggle shows mistakes. Progress saves automatically, and a timer runs while you play.
Beyond the daily, the library has one-star 5x5 and 8x8 boards for beginners, two-star 10x10 boards and three-star 14x14 ones for long solves. It suits LinkedIn Queens players who want the harder two-star format, since Queens is in effect a one-star Star Battle.
How to play Star Battle Puzzles
- Open the site and press Play, or Daily for today's board.
- Tap a cell once to mark it X, twice to place a star, a third time to clear it.
- Put exactly two stars in every row, column and bold region.
- Keep stars from touching, even diagonally.
- Finish the board to stop the clock and share your time.

Tips
- Small regions often have only a few legal spots for their two stars; start there.
- When two regions fit entirely inside two rows, those rows' stars all belong to them: cross out the rest of the rows.
- Turn on Auto-X so each star clears its eight neighbours for you.
