Starspuzzle

The Starspuzzle daily board for Oct 6: an empty 9x9 grid divided into regions by thick dark borders, with undo, hint and check buttons below

Starspuzzle puts up one free Stars puzzle every day, a two-star Star Battle board with black-bordered regions. You place two stars in each row, column and region so that no stars touch. Hints and a Check button help when you are stuck, and more than 300 extra levels and an archive are there after the daily.

About Starspuzzle

Starspuzzle is a small free site for Stars, the two-star form of Star Battle. The board is a square grid divided by thick black borders into regions, and the goal is to place exactly two stars in every row, every column and every region, with no two stars touching side by side or diagonally.

The daily board is dated in the corner of the screen and is the same for everyone that day; on 6 October 2026 it was a 9x9 grid. You tap a cell to cycle it from blank to an X to a star. The bar under the board has undo, a hint and a check, and a setting can highlight errors when you check. A local profile counts puzzles solved, your best time and the hints you used, all without an account.

Besides the daily there are more than 300 levels sorted into Beginner, Medium and Hard, and archive boards from earlier days. The site is in English and Chinese. It suits Queens players ready for two stars per line, and anyone who wants one calm logic grid a day with hints to hand.

How to play Starspuzzle

  1. Open starspuzzle.com; today's dated board loads first.
  2. Tap a cell to cycle it from blank to X to star.
  3. Place two stars in each row, each column and each black-bordered region.
  4. Keep stars from touching, even diagonally.
  5. Use a hint if you are stuck, then press Check when the board is full.

Tips

  • Begin with the smallest region; it has the fewest ways to fit two stars.
  • Two stars in a row can never be next to each other, so a region of three cells in a line holds stars at both ends.
  • Mark the eight cells around every star with an X straight away.
