DailyPlay Mahjong: the puzzle for 2 October 2026

DailyPlay Mahjong is a daily mahjong solitaire puzzle: you remove matching pairs of tiles until the stacked layout is empty. Every player gets the same layout each day, and earlier days can be picked from a calendar.

About DailyPlay Mahjong

DailyPlay Mahjong is the tile-matching game often called mahjong solitaire, not the four-player game. A layout of stacked tiles is dealt, and you clear it by picking matching pairs. A tile can only be taken when nothing sits on top of it and at least one of its left or right sides is open, so the order in which you clear pairs decides whether the board can be finished.

On DailyPlay there is one layout a day and everyone gets the same one, so a streak and a score mean the same thing for every player. Hints, undo and a calendar of earlier days are built in, and a finished board gives a share card with your result.

The site is run by Chris Benjaminsen through GreatGamesNetwork ApS and has no ads; optional subscriptions support it. Mahjong sits alongside its sudoku, solitaire, crosswords and WordSlip, so it suits players who want a calm visual puzzle next to their word games.

How to play DailyPlay Mahjong

  1. Open today's Mahjong on DailyPlay.
  2. Look for tiles that are free: nothing on top and an open left or right side.
  3. Tap two matching free tiles to remove them as a pair.
  4. Work from the tall stacks and long rows first so tiles underneath become free.
  5. Clear every tile to finish the day and share your result.

Tips

  • Free tiles that sit on top of stacks first: they unlock the most.
  • When three or four copies of a tile are free, pick the pair that frees the most other tiles.
  • Use undo before a hint: often one earlier pair choice is the only problem.

Questions

Is this the four-player mahjong game?

No. It is mahjong solitaire, a one-player tile-matching puzzle using mahjong tiles.

Can I play earlier days?

Yes. A calendar on the page lets you open past days' layouts.
