About Toadle (MinCalc)

Toadle strips Wordle-style feedback down to one number. You type a real four-letter English word and the game prints a score beside it: two points for each letter in the right position, one point for each letter that is in the word but in another position. You see only the total, never which letters earned it, so a 4 could mean two letters in place or four letters out of place.

The game is working out that split. A score of 0 is valuable, ruling out four letters at once; pairs of guesses that differ by one letter tell you what that letter is worth. You can tap letters in your past guesses to mark them green, yellow or crossed out as private notes, which do not change anything. A score of 8 solves the puzzle, and ten tries without one reveals the word.

A new word goes live at 00:00 UTC, the same for everyone, and every Toadle since April 2026 is in the archive. Invalid words and repeated guesses are refused without costing a try.

It suits players who like Jotto or Mastermind more than plain Wordle, and it sits beside MinCalc's other dailies such as Targle and Quackle.

How to play Toadle (MinCalc)

1. Open mincalc.com/toadle.
2. Type a real four-letter word and press Enter.
3. Read the score: two points for each letter in the right place, one for each letter in the word but elsewhere.
4. Compare scores across guesses to work out which letters count and where they go; tap letters to keep notes.
5. Score 8 within ten tries to solve the day's word.
