QWRTL
Rate itWordle without the letter E, with a dated puzzle for today.
Every day: The Today's link gives a puzzle seeded by the date (shown as "October 5, 2026, symbol count 5, game 1"), so every player gets the same word that day; Random plays an unseeded match. New puzzle: Midnight local time (the seed is the calendar date).

QWRTL is Wordle with one letter taken away: E never appears in an answer and is missing from the keyboard. Press Today's for the date's puzzle, the same for everyone, or play random matches as often as you like.
About QWRTL
QWRTL describes itself as Wordle without the letter E. Its about page credits Josh's original Wordle and Lynn's variation, and it keeps the familiar board: type a word, press Go, and each tile shows whether the letter is in the answer and in the right place. The difference sits in the keyboard, where the E key is simply gone, and in the word list, where no answer uses it.
Losing the most common letter in English changes how you open. Starting words that lean on E are off the table, so the vowels you test are A, I, O, U and Y, and the consonants carry more of the work. Words you would never think of in ordinary Wordle become good guesses.
The page opens on a random match. The Today's link in the corner switches to a puzzle seeded by the date, which the board labels with the day, the word length and the game number, and which every player shares. A slider sets the word length, and you can copy your grid as coloured squares or send a link that summons a friend to the same match.
How to play QWRTL
- Open limpet.net/qwrtl and press Today's in the top corner to load the date's puzzle.
- Type a word with no E in it and press Go.
- Read the tiles: right letter in the right place, right letter in the wrong place, or not in the word.
- Keep guessing within the six rows until you find the word.
- Use Publish my grid to copy your result, or Random for more practice games.
Tips
- Plan an opener around A, I, O, U and Y, since E is never there.
- Remember that common endings like -ED and -ER are impossible; -ING, -LY and -AL are not.
- Use Random matches to get used to E-less words before the day's puzzle.
- Check that the board says the date: a game started from the plain address is a random match.
