Booky is a daily five-letter word game in the Wordle mould, made for readers of romantasy. You have six guesses, and solving the word shows which book inspired it along with similar reads. Past words wait in an archive.

About Booky

Booky is a free daily word game from 90books, a book recommendation site. Each numbered puzzle hides one five-letter word chosen from the world of romantasy, the fantasy romance genre, and you have six tries to find it.

The rules are the familiar ones with a change of colour: a purple tile means the letter is in the right place, yellow means it is in the word but elsewhere, and grey means it is not in the word. Any five-letter word is accepted as a guess. If you are stuck, a hint button shows the day's book as a spoiler without touching your streak or stats.

When you solve the word, Booky shows the book it came from and suggests similar reads. A new word unlocks at midnight, and an archive lets you play earlier words while you wait. You can share your result, join the daily thread on Reddit, or sign up for an evening reminder email that also recovers your stats on a new device.

It suits Wordle players who read fantasy romance, and readers looking for their next book along the way.

How to play Booky

  1. Open Booky and type a five-letter word, then press Enter.
  2. Read the tiles: purple is the right letter in the right spot, yellow is in the word elsewhere, grey is not in the word.
  3. Use what you learned to make your next guess, up to six in all.
  4. Tap the hint for the day's book if you are stuck; it does not affect your streak.
  5. Solve the word to see the book it came from and similar reads, then share your result.

Tips

  • Expect romantasy words such as fated, court or blade: the theme narrows the answer more than in plain Wordle.
  • Spend an early guess on common vowels and consonants before you go for themed words.
  • Play earlier puzzles in the archive to learn the kind of vocabulary it uses.
