Cosmeredle

Cosmeredle board with columns for name, home world, first appearance, species and abilities, behind a spoiler notice about Wind and Truth

Cosmeredle is a daily character guessing game for readers of Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere books. Each guess fills a row showing whether the character's home world, first appearance, species and abilities match the hidden one. Everyone is guessing the same character each day.

About Cosmeredle

Cosmeredle is a fan-made guessing game in the style of LoLdle and Smidle, set in the Cosmere, the shared universe of Brandon Sanderson's novels such as Mistborn and The Stormlight Archive. Each day the server picks one character, and you guess by typing names from the list.

Every guess adds a row with five columns: name, home world, first appearance, species and abilities or investiture. Each cell is green if it matches the hidden character, red if it does not, and orange for a partial match on species or abilities, for example a guess that is Human but not Skaa, or that shares one of several abilities. A colour-blind mode swaps these for other colours.

Character data comes from the Coppermind fan wiki, and the game has been updated with information from Wind and Truth, so expect spoilers for recent books. When you solve it, the game links to the character's Coppermind page and gives you a result to share, with a countdown to the next character. It suits Cosmere readers who know their worldhoppers from their Radiants.

How to play Cosmeredle

  1. Type a Cosmere character's name and pick it from the list.
  2. Read the row: green cells match the hidden character, red ones do not.
  3. Orange on species or abilities means a partial match, such as the right broad species or one shared ability.
  4. Use the hints to narrow down the home world, book and powers, then guess again.
  5. Solve it, read the Coppermind link and share your result.

Tips

  • Open with a well-known character from a busy world like Roshar or Scadrial to test the home world quickly.
  • First appearance narrows things a lot; pick a guess from the book you suspect.
  • Orange on abilities means at least one power is right, so try characters with overlapping powers.
  • Turn on colour-blind mode in settings if red and green are hard to tell apart.
