Flipping Letters card: a guess grid solving WATCH and a tile bank where e and m tiles can be spun

Flipping Letters is a Wordle-style daily word game with a limited bank of letter tiles. The twist is that some tiles can be spun 180 degrees to become a different letter, so an e may hide an a, or a d a p; find the word using colour feedback.

About Flipping Letters

Flipping Letters gives you a small bank of letter tiles instead of a full keyboard, and the day's five-letter word can only be spelled from them. Some tiles carry a spin icon: rotate them 180 degrees and they show a different letter, the way a lower-case d upside down reads as p, or an m becomes a w.

You build guesses from the tiles, spinning them as needed, and the game colours each letter in the familiar way: green for the right letter in the right place, yellow for a letter in the word but elsewhere, grey for a letter not in it. Working out which side of each tile the answer needs is half the puzzle.

There is one numbered word a day, the same for every player and changing at midnight UTC. The game keeps your played count, win rate and streaks, and lets you share a spoiler-free result.

It suits Wordle players who want a fresh twist, and anyone who likes visual letter tricks.

How to play Flipping Letters

  1. Open flippingletters.com and look at today's letter tiles.
  2. Build a five-letter guess from the tiles; tap the spin icon to flip a tile and use its other letter.
  3. Submit and read the colours: green right place, yellow wrong place, grey not in the word.
  4. Narrow it down until you find the word, then share your result.

Tips

  • Check which tiles can spin before your first guess; they widen your choices.
  • Common pairs when spun: d and p, b and q, n and u, m and w.
  • Use a first guess that tests several different tiles.
