Word Hurdle
Find the hidden six-letter word in six guesses, with a new one every 12 hours.
Every day: A new hidden six-letter word every 12 hours, the same puzzle number for everyone, to find in six guesses; four- and five-letter versions run on the same schedule, and practice games are unlimited. New puzzle: Midnight and noon local time (the game number changes every 12 hours by the player's clock).

Word Hurdle is a six-letter take on Wordle from Solitaired. You get six guesses at a hidden word, and coloured tiles tell you which letters are right, misplaced or missing. A new puzzle arrives every 12 hours, and there are four- and five-letter versions too.
About Word Hurdle
Word Hurdle began in February 2022 on wordhurdle.in as a game inspired by Wordle, and Solitaired, a site of card and puzzle games, took it over in May 2022. The main game asks for a six-letter word, one letter longer than Wordle, which gives you more to work out in the same six guesses.
After each guess the tiles change colour. Blue means the letter is in the right place, yellow means it is in the word but somewhere else, and gray means it is not in the word. Every guess has to be a real word that fills all six spaces. A difficult mode makes you use every clue you have found in later guesses, and if you are stuck you can watch a short ad to have three unused letters ruled out.
The daily puzzle changes twice a day, at midnight and at noon on your own clock, so there are two numbered games every day. The end screen counts down to the next one and lists the 12-Hour Challenge: the four-letter, five-letter and six-letter Word Hurdles, Phrazle and Clue Hurdle, with a tick by each one you have done. A practice mode gives unlimited extra words, and statistics track your wins, streaks and guess counts.
The game is free with ads and runs in the browser on phones and computers.
How to play Word Hurdle
- Open Word Hurdle and type any six-letter word as your first guess.
- Read the colours: blue for the right letter in the right place, yellow for a right letter in the wrong place, gray for a letter not in the word.
- Use what you learned to make your next guess.
- Find the word within six guesses.
- Come back after noon or midnight for the next puzzle, or try the four- and five-letter versions.
Tips
- Open with a word full of common letters, such as STREAM or CRANES, to learn the most at once.
- Avoid repeated letters early unless the clues point to them.
- Think about word endings: six-letter words often end in ED, ER, ES or LY.
- Save the ad hint for the last guesses, when ruling out three letters matters most.
