Greatest Games, daily word and logic puzzles (Wordly is one of its games)

Wordly is a daily six-letter word guessing game on Greatest Games. You have six tries, and each guess colours its letters green for the right spot, yellow for in the word elsewhere and grey for not in the word. Hard mode makes every guess reuse the clues you have found.

About Wordly

Wordly plays the same loop as Wordle, guess, read the colours, narrow it down, but with six-letter words instead of five. Everyone gets the same word each day and has six guesses. Every guess must be a valid six-letter word; an unrecognised word is turned away without using up a row.

Green means a letter is in the word and in the right spot, yellow means it is in the word but elsewhere, and grey means it is not in the word at all. Each tile is judged on its own, so a doubled letter can come back green, yellow and grey at once, never more times than the answer holds it. Easy mode lets you guess freely; Hard mode, toggled before your first guess, makes you keep greens in place and move yellows.

Wordly is one of the daily games on Greatest Games, a site of word and logic puzzles. A new puzzle goes up every day at midnight US Eastern, the same for everyone, and it plays free in the browser with no account or download. A free account opens the Wordly archive of every past puzzle by date.
