Septle

The Septle card: the name in green letter tiles, A daily word game

Septle is a seven-letter take on Wordle. Each day there is one hidden seven-letter word, and you have eight guesses to find it, with green, yellow and grey tiles showing which letters are right, misplaced or absent. No hints are given, and a six-letter daily runs alongside.

About Septle

Septle stretches the Wordle formula to seven letters. The answer is a seven-letter word, the same for everyone that day, and you have eight guesses instead of six to make up for the longer word.

Each guess must be a real seven-letter word. Tiles turn green for a right letter in the right place, yellow for a letter that is in the word somewhere else, and grey for a letter that is not there. There are no hints, and once you finish you can check the answer for a short reveal.

Beside the main game the site offers other daily puzzles, including a six-letter word, and lets players suggest words for the list.

It suits Wordle players who find five letters too easy and want longer words to think about.

How to play Septle

  1. Type any seven-letter word as your first guess.
  2. Read the colours: green right place, yellow wrong place, grey not in the word.
  3. Use those clues to choose your next seven-letter word.
  4. Keep going until you find the word, within eight guesses.

Tips

  • Open with a word rich in common letters, such as one ending in -ING or -ERS.
  • Seven-letter words often hide prefixes and suffixes; test them early.
  • Remember letters can repeat.
