Phrazle
Guess a whole common phrase in six tries, with coloured tiles telling you which word each letter belongs to.
Every day: Two new hidden phrases each day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, the same for every player, each to solve in six guesses. New puzzle: Midnight and noon local time.

Phrazle takes the Wordle idea and stretches it across a full phrase, usually an idiom or familiar saying. You have six guesses, every guess has to fill all the spaces with real words, and the tiles show whether a letter is in the right spot, in the right word, or somewhere else in the phrase. A new puzzle comes out twice a day.
About Phrazle
Phrazle is a phrase guessing game on Solitaired, a site best known for its card games. It was being written about as a new game in April 2022, and it sits alongside Solitaired's other word games such as its 4, 5 and 6 letter Wordle-style puzzles and Clue.
Each puzzle is a hidden phrase of several words, shown as rows of empty boxes split into words. You type a guess that fits the pattern exactly, using real words. The tiles then change colour. Green is the right letter in the right place. Orange means the letter is in that word but elsewhere. Purple means the letter is in the phrase, but in a different word. Grey means it is not in the phrase at all.
The purple tile is what sets Phrazle apart from Wordle and its many copies. Short linking words like THE or AND tend to fall quickly, and then the work is in the longer words and in recalling a saying that fits. A hint is available after a short ad, which reveals letters that are not in the answer.
There are two puzzles a day, one at midnight and one at noon local time, plus a practice mode. It suits players who like Wordle but want something closer to a fill-in-the-blank quiz on everyday expressions.
How to play Phrazle
- Look at the empty rows to see how many words the phrase has and how long each one is.
- Type a guess that fills every space with real words, then submit it.
- Read the tiles: green is the right letter in the right spot, orange is in that word but misplaced, purple is in another word, grey is not in the phrase.
- Use what you learned to make your next guess.
- Solve the phrase within six guesses, then come back at noon or midnight for the next one.
Tips
- Fill short words with THE, AND, A or OF early; they often turn green and give the phrase its shape.
- Use long words with common letters like E, A, R, S and T in the first guess to find the vowels.
- Watch the purple tiles: they tell you a letter belongs to a different word, which helps you move it to the right place.
- Once a few words are fixed, stop testing letters and think of idioms that fit the pattern.
- Save the ad hint for when you are stuck on the last guess or two.
