Every day: A new clue and hidden answer every 12 hours, the same for every player, solved in six guesses with coloured tiles; a practice mode gives extra puzzles. New puzzle: Midnight and noon local time (the game number changes every 12 hours by the player's clock).

Clue Hurdle is a Wordle-style game from Solitaired where every puzzle starts with a clue. You read a short crossword-style definition and have six tries to type the answer, which can be a single word or a few words. A new puzzle comes out twice a day.
About Clue Hurdle (Solitaired)
Clue Hurdle sits beside Word Hurdle and Phrazle in Solitaired's set of word games. Where Word Hurdle gives you nothing but empty tiles, Clue Hurdle shows a clue above the board, written the way a crossword clue is, for example Land-reclamation machines. The length of the answer row tells you how many letters you need.
Each guess must fill every space, and the answer can be made of more than one word, as in a crossword. After you press Enter, the tiles change colour: green for a letter in the right spot, another colour for a letter that is in the answer but somewhere else, and grey for a letter that is not in the answer. With the clue to steer you, the colours often confirm a hunch in two or three tries.
The Daily puzzle changes every 12 hours, at midnight and at noon by your own clock, and everyone plays the same one in each slot. A Practice tab gives more puzzles when you want them, and a Hint key reveals three letters that are not in the answer after a short video. After you finish, the game shows your statistics, a countdown to the next puzzle, and links to Solitaired's other Hurdle games.
It suits players who like Wordle but want a clue to reason from, and crossword solvers who enjoy checking a hunch letter by letter.
How to play Clue Hurdle (Solitaired)
- Open Clue Hurdle and make sure the Daily tab is selected.
- Read the clue above the board and count the tiles in the answer row.
- Type a guess that fills every tile and press Enter.
- Use the colours: green is the right letter in the right spot, a letter in the answer but in the wrong spot is marked in a different colour, grey is not in the answer.
- Find the answer within six guesses, then come back after midnight or noon for the next one.
Tips
- Think of the clue the way a crossword setter would: plurals in the clue usually mean a plural answer.
- Use the answer length to rule out synonyms before you type anything.
- If the clue does not click, spend the first guess on common letters to learn more from the colours.
- Save the Hint key for the end: it removes three letters, which helps most when only a few are left.
