Zestle: Daily Word Challenges

Five Wordle-style word puzzles a day, each with a twist on which words you may guess.

Every day: Five new five-letter word puzzles each day, the same set for every player, rising from warmup through easy, medium and hard to expert, with friend leaderboards and a streak for finishing all five before the reset. New puzzle: Once a day at a fixed time; the home screen counts down to it.

Zestle is a free iPhone and iPad word game with five daily puzzles that build from a warmup to an expert round. Each is a five-letter word guess with coloured feedback, and the harder rounds add a rule, such as a pattern of consonants and vowels or a letter fixed in place, that every guess must follow.

About Zestle: Daily Word Challenges

Zestle takes the familiar five-letter guessing game and turns it into a daily ladder of five puzzles. The home screen lists today's Daily Challenge as Puzzle 1 to Puzzle 5, labelled Warmup, Easy, Medium, Hard and Expert, with points for each one you solve and a countdown to the next set.

The colours differ from Wordle: a blue tile is a correct letter in the right place, orange is a letter in the word but elsewhere, and grey is not in the word. Later puzzles set a condition on your guesses, for example a word matching the pattern CKVCC (consonants and vowels in that order) or a word with P as its third letter, so you have to plan guesses that both fit the rule and narrow the answer.

The game was made by Mikhail Gasanov and released in 2025. Its store listing says it has no ads and no in-app purchases; you get one free hint a day and can earn more. Leaderboards rank you against friends by speed and number of tries, and a streak counts the days you finish all five.

How to play Zestle: Daily Word Challenges

  1. Open the app and pick Puzzle 1 from today's Daily Challenge.
  2. Read the rule above the grid, if there is one, and type a five-letter word that follows it.
  3. Read the colours: blue is right letter, right place; orange is in the word elsewhere; grey is not in the word.
  4. Keep guessing until you find the word, then move on to the next puzzle.
  5. Finish all five before the countdown ends to keep your streak.

Tips

  • Read the condition on the harder rounds before typing: a guess that breaks it is wasted thinking time.
  • Save the daily free hint for the Expert puzzle.
