Purr Grid
Rate itPlace one cat in every row, column and coloured region, with no two cats touching.
Every day: One shared cat placement board a day, the same for every player, picked from the Standard path and rotated or reflected, with a local streak. New puzzle: Midnight UTC.

Purr Grid is a free browser logic puzzle from SailToWorld in the style of Queens: put one cat in each row, column and coloured region so that no two cats touch, even at a corner. A new shared board arrives every day at midnight UTC, and 72 practice levels sit beside it.
About Purr Grid
Purr Grid is an independent browser game by SailToWorld. Its boards are square grids split into numbered, coloured regions, and the goal is to place one cat in every row, every column and every region. Cats may not sit in neighbouring squares, diagonals included, so each cat you place rules out a ring of squares around it.
The daily puzzle is one board for everyone, keyed to the UTC date and changed at midnight UTC. It is drawn from the game's Standard path and rotated or reflected, so it is usually a 6 by 6 or 7 by 7 grid. Finishing it adds a day to a streak kept in your browser, and a Copy result button gives a spoiler-free summary with your time and how much help you used.
Outside the daily board there are 72 original levels in three paths: Beginner boards solve with single-candidate steps, Standard ones add groups confined to rows or columns, and Challenge boards need assumption checks. A Mix button rotates or reflects a board from a path for a fresh layout at the same difficulty. Every board is checked by a solver to have connected regions and exactly one solution.
What sets it apart from other Queens-style games is its teaching help. Show a reason highlights the next deduction and explains why it follows without placing a cat for you, and Reveal a cat is counted separately. There is a guided mini lesson and a strategy page with worked deductions. No account or payment is needed, and progress stays in your browser. It suits players who like LinkedIn's Queens or Star Battle and want a calm daily board with explained hints.
How to play Purr Grid
- Open the daily puzzle page; today's board is labelled with the UTC date.
- Choose the Cat tool and tap a square to place a cat, or tap it again to remove it.
- Switch to the × Mark tool to tap or drag across squares you have ruled out; right-click also marks.
- Keep exactly one cat in each row, each column and each numbered coloured region.
- Never place two cats in neighbouring squares, including diagonal corners.
- Use Show a reason when stuck to see the next deduction explained, then copy your result when the board is solved.

Tips
- Start with the smallest region: if a region sits inside one row or column, every other square in that line can be crossed out.
- After placing a cat, mark all eight squares around it at once; the Show excluded squares option does this visually.
- Look for two regions confined to the same two rows: no other region can use those rows.
- Show a reason does not count as a reveal, so use it to learn a step rather than revealing a cat.
Questions
What time does the Purr Grid daily puzzle change?
At midnight UTC. The board is chosen from the UTC date, so every player gets the same one that day.
Can I play earlier daily puzzles?
No. The daily page shows which of the last seven days you completed, but only today's board can be played. The 72 levels and the Mix button give more boards to play.
Do I need an account?
No. It plays in the browser with no sign-up or payment, and your streak and results are stored in that browser only.
Is Purr Grid the same as Meowdoku?
No. Its makers say it is an independent SailToWorld game with its own generated boards, not an official Meowdoku product.
