A daily gauntlet of ten Wordle-style 5-letter words, scored by how fast you solve each, beside endless and live multiplayer modes.

Every day: The Daily Gauntlet: ten 5-letter words, the same ten for every player, one attempt a day. Each word gets five Wordle-style guesses scored 500, 250, 150, 50 or 10 points by the guess that solves it, and you play all ten even after a miss. Today's standings show on the Gauntlet screen. New puzzle: Midnight Eastern Time.

Lexathon is a competitive 5-letter word game built on Wordle-style guessing. Its Daily Gauntlet gives every player the same ten words once a day, five guesses each, with points for solving early and a board of today's scores. Endless runs and live head-to-head and group races sit alongside it.

About Lexathon

Lexathon takes the familiar 5-letter guessing loop and adds scoring, leaderboards and multiplayer. Each word is found in up to five guesses, and every letter of a guess is marked as in the correct spot or in the wrong spot. The faster you solve, the more you score: 500 points on the first guess, then 250, 150, 50 and 10.

The daily part is the Gauntlet. Once a day everyone gets the identical set of ten words and one attempt at it. There are no continues, but you play all ten whatever happens: run out of guesses on a word and its answer is shown, it scores nothing, and the next one starts. Today's standings sit on the Gauntlet screen, ordered by score and then words solved, and the Past Gauntlets page keeps each finished day's words and results. The Gauntlet began on 2 September 2026.

Outside the daily there is Endless, where you guess word after word with one continue and must decide when to bank your points before a second miss wipes the run. Clash is a seven-minute race against one other player through the same words, and Free-For-All does the same with three to six players. Each of the two multiplayer modes keeps its own rating.

The game is free in the browser with no ads. You can play as a guest, or sign in with Google or email to keep progress across devices. Points can be spent in a shop on cosmetic titles, banners and text effects that do not change scoring, and three daily challenges pay out extra points.

Tips

  • Open with five different common letters: a strong opener makes a second- or third-guess solve, worth 250 or 150 points, more likely.
  • A miss costs only that word in the Gauntlet, so do not burn time on one word you are stuck on: make your best five guesses and move on.
  • Warm up with an Endless run before the Gauntlet, since the daily allows only one attempt.
  • Check Past Gauntlets to see how hard earlier words turned out and what kind of words appear.
