A shuffled Huezzle board: a 7 by 9 grid of mixed yellow, olive, pink and red shades inside a frame of circled frozen cells, with the tip Drag one cell over another to swap their positions

Huezzle is a daily colour puzzle. You see a grid of colours blending smoothly from corner to corner, it shuffles, and you drag cells over each other to swap them until the gradient is whole again. Cells marked with a circle are frozen in place and act as guides.

About Huezzle

Huezzle, by Antonio González Gea, gives you one colour puzzle a day in the browser. When it opens you see the finished picture: a grid where the colours shift gradually from one corner to the others. Touch to start and every cell that is not frozen gets shuffled, and the job is to put each shade back where it belongs.

You move a cell by dragging it onto another, which swaps the two. Frozen cells, marked with a small circle, never move, so they act as fixed reference points for the gradient; which cells are frozen changes with the day's pattern, from a frame with a centre line to a chess board or scattered dots. When every cell is back in place the puzzle is solved and the game records your time and number of moves.

The puzzle comes from the date, so everyone gets the same grid, colours and shuffle that day. The size and difficulty follow the day of the week: Tuesday to Thursday are easy, Monday and Friday normal, and the weekend hard. If you are stuck you can ask for up to three hints, which mark the cells that are still out of place.

A share message gives the puzzle number, your time, moves and hints, and a statistics page tracks your averages and best times for each difficulty. There are settings for the control mode, animation speed, light or dark theme and language. It is also published on itch.io, and works offline once loaded.

  5. Share your time, moves and hints, then come back tomorrow for a new grid.

Tips

  • Study the gradient before you touch the board: the preview is the answer, and it disappears once the shuffle starts.
  • Work out from the frozen cells: a cell between two fixed ones has to be the shade halfway between them.
  • Sort one row or column at a time instead of chasing single cells across the whole grid.
  • Hints count in your share message, so try the last few cells by eye before asking.

Why is the puzzle harder some days?

Difficulty follows the weekday: easy from Tuesday to Thursday, normal on Monday and Friday, and hard on Saturday and Sunday.

How many hints can I use?

Up to three a puzzle. They mark cells that are not yet in their right place, and the count appears in your result.
