Every day: A new circuit and a new car every day, the same for everyone: lap as often as you like, and your fastest clean lap goes against bronze, silver and gold times and the day's leaderboard, which closes at midnight Rome time. New puzzle: Midnight Rome time (Central European Time).

Grand Premio is a browser racing game with a new circuit and a new car each day, the same for every player. You drive as many laps as you like through Italian-style countryside, and your fastest clean lap counts against medal times and the day's leaderboard. Send a friend a challenge and they race your lap as a ghost.
About Grand Premio
Grand Premio is a 3D racing game in the browser built around one lap a day. Each day at midnight Rome time it draws a new circuit, with a name such as Anello di San Fruttuoso, and pairs it with a car from one era of Grand Prix history. The cars run from a 1932 single-seater and a 1937 silver arrow through the cigar-shaped cars of the 1950s and the turbo era to a 2022 ground-effect car, and each drives differently: early cars want gentle braking and drift, later ones late braking and early throttle.
You can lap as often as you like. Only your fastest clean lap counts, and at least one wheel has to stay on the track. The screen shows the timer, your best lap, a small map of the circuit and the bronze, silver and gold target times for the day. Restart at any moment with R. You drive with the arrow keys or WASD, with a gamepad, or by touch on a phone.
When you have a lap you like, save it to the leaderboard under a name and see where you stand; the board closes at midnight. You can challenge friends with a link: they watch your lap, then race it with your car shown as a ghost. On the leaderboard you can also watch the lap of the driver just ahead of you. A one-minute driving lesson teaches how to brake for the first corner, where most new drivers crash. No account is needed.
It suits players who like short daily time trials such as Daily Apex or Swervle, and anyone fond of old racing cars.
How to play Grand Premio
- Open grandprem.io; the day's circuit name, car and closing time appear at the top left.
- Take the short driving lesson, or skip it and race straight away.
- Accelerate with the up arrow or W, brake with down or S, and steer with left and right or A and D.
- Complete a lap with at least one wheel on the track; press R to restart whenever you like.
- Keep lapping to beat the bronze, silver and gold times shown on the right.
- Save your best lap to the leaderboard, or send a challenge link so a friend races your ghost.

Tips
- Brake earlier than you think for turn 1; the lesson exists because most new drivers crash there.
- Read the car's blurb: older cars want early braking and a little drift, modern ones late braking and early throttle.
- A lap with all four wheels off the track is not clean, so do not cut corners too far.
- Watch the replay of the driver just above you on the board to find where they gain time.
- Restart at once after a mistake rather than finishing a slow lap.
