Play Rushdle

Rushdle, the daily name the sped-up song game

Rushdle is a daily music game from Minigame Mania. Each of the day's three songs plays sped up to three times its speed, and every wrong guess slows it down; name it early for more points.

About Rushdle

Rushdle is a name-that-tune game on Minigame Mania, the small daily games site that also runs Pitchdle and Screenplaydle. Each day brings three songs from different genres, the same three for everyone.

A 30-second preview plays, but sped far up: on your first guess it runs at three times its speed. You search for the title or artist and guess. Each miss slows the clip sharply, and your fifth and last guess comes at normal speed. If none of the five is right, the song is revealed and scores nothing.

Scoring rewards speed of recognition: 100 points for the first guess, then 80, 60, 40 and 20. Your day's result is the average of the three songs.

Where most song dailies hide a song by cutting it short, Rushdle plays the whole clip and blurs it with speed instead, so the rhythm and hook are there from the start if you can catch them.

How to play Rushdle

  1. Open Rushdle and play the first of the day's three songs, sped up to three times its speed.
  2. Search for the title or artist and make a guess.
  3. After each miss the clip slows down; guess again, up to five times.
  4. Repeat for the other two songs and see your average score.

Tips

  • Listen for the chorus hook or a vocal phrase; melody survives the speed-up better than lyrics.
  • A skip costs points, so take a guess on the first play if a song sounds familiar.
  • The genre shown with each song narrows the search.
