Animdle is a daily guessing game about anime theme songs. The opening mode plays the day's opening sequence and you search a list of titles to name the series it belongs to. The ending mode does the same with an ending theme. You have a row of hearts: each wrong guess or skip uses one, and losing them all ends the round.

The video can be switched off if you want to avoid spoilers, so you play by ear alone, and the site warns you when a clip may give away a plot point. Hardcore versions of both modes are there for players who want a tougher round, and winning the normal mode unlocks an extra golden heart.

The site keeps your played count, wins, current streak and record, lets you share a result link, and has an archive of previous games and yesterday's puzzle. It is free in the browser with ads, in English and Spanish. Its daily date follows Japan time, so new puzzles arrive at midnight in Tokyo.

How to play Animdle

1. Pick a mode: openings, endings, or their hardcore versions.
2. Play the clip, with or without the video, and listen to the song.
3. Search for the anime title and submit a guess, or skip if you are unsure.
4. Each miss or skip costs a heart; name the show before they run out.
5. Come back after midnight Japan time for the next opening and ending.

• Replay the clip before guessing: the first few seconds of a song are often the hardest part.
• Long-running shows have many openings, so the art style or singer can help you place the season.
