About Anime Wordle

Anime Wordle is a fan project by a solo developer who signs as lemmih-dev. By its own account it began as a Wordle spin-off in late 2025 and opened to the public in January 2026, with a new mode added every few months since. Its anime data comes from MyAnimeList's public dataset, and the daily answers are weighted toward well-known titles.

The main mode, Classic, gives you a search box and a table. You pick any anime from the list, and its row shows studio, genres, themes, episodes, score, popularity and premiere season, each coloured green for a match, yellow for close and red for a miss. Close has fixed limits: within 20 episodes, 0.3 score points, 15 popularity places or three years. After four wrong guesses you can reveal a character from the answer, and after seven a part of its title.

The other daily modes are shorter. In Emoji mode one emoji shows at the start and each miss adds another. In Find the Character a blurred picture of a character sharpens with each wrong guess, and Find the Poster does the same with a series poster, marking a guess from the right franchise as Same series. A home page mission tracks the four daily modes, and Random Classic offers unlimited practice rounds outside the daily set.

Everyone gets the same puzzles, which change at 00:00 UTC. You can play without an account; signing in with Google or Apple keeps your streak, stats, achievements and leaderboard scores across devices. The screens can be switched to Turkish, Japanese, German, Italian or French, though titles are matched in English. Banner ads run on the page.

How to play Anime Wordle

1. Open Anime Wordle and start with Classic, or pick a mode from Today's Mission on the home page.
2. Type an anime title and choose it from the autocomplete list.
3. Read the row of clues: green is a match, yellow is close, red is no match, for studio, genres, themes, episodes, score, popularity and premiere.
4. Keep guessing; open the character hint after four misses and the title hint after seven if you are stuck.
5. Play Emoji, Find the Character and Find the Poster, where each wrong guess shows more emoji or a sharper image.

Tips

• Different seasons are separate entries, so if the studio and genres match but the year is off, try another season of the same show.
• Yellow on episodes means within 20, and yellow on the premiere means within three years, so a yellow narrows the range a lot.
• Always pick from the dropdown; Japanese titles typed by hand may not match the English entries.
• In Poster and Emoji modes, Same series means you have the right franchise but the wrong season, film or spin-off.
