Animerdle
Listen to a clip of anime audio and name the show it comes from.
Every day: One audio clip from an anime a day, the same for every player, and you name the show it comes from in six tries, hearing more of the clip after each miss. New puzzle: Midnight, local time (a countdown on the site runs to your midnight).

Animerdle plays a short audio track from an anime and you guess which series it belongs to, choosing from a list of shows. Each wrong guess or skip lets you hear more of the clip, and you have six tries. A new clip comes out each day for everyone.
About Animerdle
Animerdle is a daily anime guessing game built like Heardle, but for anime sound rather than pop songs. The about page credits Aria Nakamura as its developer and describes a small team of anime fans behind it; the site has been running since 2022.
Each day there is one mystery clip. You press play and hear only the first tenth of it, then type and pick an anime from the list. A wrong guess or a skip unlocks more of the track: a fifth, then two fifths, three fifths, four fifths and finally the whole clip on the sixth and last try. Your result shows as a row of circles for skips, misses and the winning guess, ready to share.
The clips come from a long list of series, from Attack on Titan and Demon Slayer to Hajime no Ippo, Natsume's Book of Friends and Ping Pong the Animation. Seasons can matter: the FAQ says the clips are chosen so the season is clear, and where a main character only fits the first season, only that season counts. A countdown on the page shows how long until the next clip, which arrives at midnight on your own clock, and a Previous Round button lets you go back to the earlier one.
Next to character dailies such as Narutodle or Onepiecedle, which give you written clues about one show's cast, Animerdle tests your ear across the whole medium. It suits anime fans who know their openings, background music and the sound of a show well enough to place it in a few seconds.
How to play Animerdle
- Press play to hear the opening part of today's anime clip.
- Type the name of the anime and pick it from the list, then submit your guess.
- If you are wrong or skip, you hear more of the clip on the next try.
- You have six tries; the last one plays the whole clip.
- Share your result, or use Previous Round to play the earlier clip.
Tips
- Listen for the type of sound first: a vocal opening, an instrumental score or a line of dialogue each narrow the field differently.
- Search by both the English and the Japanese title; the list includes both for many shows.
- Watch the season: pick the season that matches the sound, since only the right one counts.
- Skipping early costs a try but gives you twice as much audio; it can be worth it on an unclear first second.
Questions
How many guesses do you get in Animerdle?
Six. Each wrong guess or skip plays more of the clip, and the sixth try plays all of it.
When does the next Animerdle come out?
At midnight on your own device's clock; the site shows a countdown.
Do anime seasons matter?
Partly. The FAQ says clips are chosen so the season is clear, and if a main character only fits the first season, only that season is accepted.
Can I suggest an anime?
Yes. The FAQ asks for requests by email to animerdleofficial@gmail.com.
Is Animerdle in other languages?
Not yet. The FAQ says other languages may come if there is demand.
