BLIP
Rate itFive songs a day to name from a tenth of a second of audio.
Every day: Five songs a day, the same five in the same order for everyone, one from each difficulty tier from Easy upward, drawn from the date, with one run per day and a shared leaderboard. New puzzle: Midnight UTC.

BLIP is a song guessing game where each clip starts at just 0.1 seconds and only gets longer when you miss. Its daily gives everyone the same five tracks, one from each difficulty tier, with one run per day, a shared leaderboard and a shareable grid. Solo, Gauntlet, live Versus rooms and your own imported playlists are there for more play.
About BLIP
BLIP is a free browser game about naming songs from the smallest possible slice of sound. Every round opens with a tenth of a second of the track. Miss, and the clip grows to half a second, then two, eight and fifteen seconds; the sooner you name it, the more it scores.
The Daily is five tracks, the same five in the same order for everyone, drawn from the date and reset at midnight UTC. They run from easy to hard, one song from each tier: Easy is songs you already know by heart, Medium is chart hits one step down, Hard is songs you have heard but may not be able to name, then Expert and beyond, each worth more points. You get one run a day, a streak, a place on the shared leaderboard and a grid of squares to share.
Outside the daily there is Solo, an endless run at a difficulty you choose; Gauntlet, where one miss ends the run; Versus, a live room joined with a four-letter code where players race the same clips; and Playlists, where you import a Spotify, Apple Music or SoundCloud playlist and guess from your own music. There is no account to make, nothing to install and no ads.
It suits players who know their pop and rock catalogue well enough to recognise a song from its first note.
How to play BLIP
- Open Daily and press Play today's five.
- Listen to the 0.1 second clip and type the song you think it is.
- If you miss, the clip grows to 0.5, 2, 8 and then 15 seconds.
- Work through all five tiers, then share your grid and check the leaderboard.

Tips
- The first track is the easy tier: guess boldly, since an early answer scores more.
- Listen for the first sound, a drum hit, a synth or a voice, rather than a melody you cannot hear yet.
- Practise in Solo or with your own playlist before the harder tiers of the daily.
