Potterlike is a fan-made roguelike set at Hogwarts, the school from the Harry Potter books. Its daily mode, The Tower, gives every player the same seeded floors each day: you draft a wizard with spells, potions and relics, then fight up floor by floor in one attempt, and compare how high you got on a global leaderboard.

About Potterlike

Potterlike is a browser roguelike by solodev00, a fan project based on the Harry Potter stories and not affiliated with Warner Bros. or J.K. Rowling. It is drawn in a Game Boy Advance style pixel look, with small sprites of familiar characters and turn-based duels where you choose a spell each turn, such as Expelliarmus to disarm or Episkey to heal.

The daily challenge is The Tower. Each UTC day has one seeded tower, numbered from Daily #1 on 1 July 2026, and everyone gets the same draft pools and the same enemy lineup, so scores are directly comparable. You draft a wizard and pick spells, potions and relics from the day's choices, then climb floor by floor, fighting one opponent per floor with a boss every fifth floor. The Tower has no top: enemies grow a little faster than you do, so every climb ends eventually, and the question is how high you get.

You have one attempt a day. When it ends, your result goes on a global leaderboard, the game keeps a daily streak, and a countdown shows the time to the next tower. Besides the daily there is a Story Mode that takes you through five school years along a branching map of duels, shops, potions and treasure, plus a Collection of what you have unlocked.

It plays in a phone or desktop browser at potterlike.xyz and on itch.io. It suits players who like short roguelike runs with a shared daily seed and do not mind the fan-game setting.

How to play Potterlike

  1. Open potterlike.xyz (or the itch.io page) and choose The Tower, the daily challenge.
  2. Draft your wizard and pick spells, potions and relics from the day's choices.
  3. Tap a floor to fight its opponent, choosing a spell each turn in the duel.
  4. Keep climbing; every fifth floor has a boss and the enemies get stronger as you go.
  5. When your run ends, check your place on the global leaderboard and come back after the countdown.

Tips

  • You only get one attempt a day, so take time over the draft before the first fight.
  • Pick at least one healing spell or potion; long climbs are lost to slow damage as much as to bosses.
  • Plan for the boss floors every five floors and save strong potions for them.
  • Story Mode is a good place to learn how the spells and items work before a Tower run.
