Harrypotterdle
Guess the day's Harry Potter character, quote, spell and place.
Every day: Five new Harry Potter puzzles each day, the same for everyone: a character to guess from attributes, a quote, a spell, a book excerpt with the name hidden, and a location. New puzzle: Once a day; the site does not state the time.

Harrypotterdle is a daily guessing game set in the Wizarding World. Each day brings a mystery character to find from clues about their house, species and more, plus four other modes built on quotes, spells, book excerpts and locations.
About Harrypotterdle
Harrypotterdle takes the attribute-guessing format made popular by Loldle and applies it to the Harry Potter books and films. In the classic mode you type the name of any character, and the game colours each of their traits to show how close they are to the day's answer. You narrow it down guess by guess until you land on the right witch, wizard or creature.
Around the classic mode sit four more daily puzzles. The quote mode shows a line and asks who said it. The spell mode describes what a spell does and you name it. The book mode gives an excerpt from the novels with the character's name concealed, and the location mode does the same for a place in the Wizarding World. Each mode has its own answer for the day, so a full session is five short puzzles.
The site counts a win streak of consecutive days, offers a colourblind mode and lets you pick your house as a theme. It is free to play in the browser, in English, French, Brazilian Portuguese, German and Polish. It suits readers who know the side characters as well as the trio, and anyone already playing the other -dle games built on the same pattern.
How to play Harrypotterdle
- Open the classic mode and type the name of any Harry Potter character.
- Read the coloured boxes: green means that trait matches the answer, red means it does not, and arrows or partial colours point you closer.
- Keep guessing; after a few tries the game offers hints such as whether the character is alive and their occupation.
- Once you find the character, move on to the quote, spell, book and location modes for the rest of the day's puzzles.
- Come back the next day to keep your streak going.
Tips
- Start with a character whose traits split the field, such as a Hogwarts student from a less common house.
- Use the hints only when you are stuck; they arrive after a set number of guesses.
- In the spell mode, think about the Latin root of the effect described.
