Every day: Contracts: a Daily Bounty, one scene played with a set style of weapons and modifiers that is the same for every player that day, with its own online leaderboard. Weekly Raids and Monthly Ultimatums run beside it. New puzzle: Once a day; a contract cannot be played again once it expires.

Pistol Whip is Cloudhead Games' virtual reality rhythm shooter: you are carried through a scene and shoot, dodge and pistol-whip enemies in time with the music. Its Contracts tab gives every player the same Daily Bounty, a scene with a set loadout and modifiers, and ranks the day's scores on a shared leaderboard.
About Pistol Whip
Pistol Whip came out in November 2019 from the Canadian studio Cloudhead Games and won VR game of the year at the 2020 DICE Awards. You stand in a scene that moves you forward on rails while enemies appear around you. You shoot them, dodge bullets by leaning and ducking, and hit close ones with the gun itself, and shots landed on the beat of the soundtrack score more. There are more than 40 scenes, two story campaigns (the Old West Smoke & Thunder and the sci-fi 2089) and community remixes.
In Arcade, you choose the scene, the guns and the modifiers yourself, and every combination has its own scoreboard, which makes it hard to compare with friends. Contracts, added in a free update in June 2022, fixes that choice for you. The Daily Bounty is one scene with a style already set, the same for everyone that day. You may retry it as often as you like until it expires, and your best score goes on that contract's leaderboard. A Weekly Raid strings several scenes together and a Monthly Ultimatum runs five in a row, and every finished contract adds to a cumulative score on the Careers tab.
A bounty takes a few minutes, so it suits a short daily session, a workout, or a warm-up before the longer modes. You need a VR headset: Pistol Whip runs on Meta Quest, on PC VR through Steam, and on PlayStation VR and PlayStation VR2.
How to play Pistol Whip

- Pick the Daily Bounty: its scene, weapons and modifiers are already set.
- Shoot enemies as they appear, timing your shots to the beat for more points.
- Lean and duck to dodge bullets, and strike close enemies with your gun.
- Finish the scene to post your score to the bounty's leaderboard, and retry as often as you like until the contract expires.

Tips
- Play the bounty's scene once in Arcade if you do not know it yet, then come back to the contract.
- Accuracy and on-beat shots matter more than speed: wait for the beat rather than firing at once.
- Dodging keeps your score multiplier, so move your body instead of shooting every bullet.
