Mini Mahj

Mini Mahj: the pass stage with opponents Rose, Ivy and Lily, three empty pass slots and the player's hand of mahjong tiles below

Mini Mahj is a free daily American mahjong challenge. Everyone in the world starts with the same hand, faces the same wall and the same three computer opponents, so only your decisions change the result. Your score goes on a worldwide leaderboard, and you can make groups to play against friends.

About Mini Mahj

Mini Mahj takes American mahjong, the version played with a card of winning hands, jokers and flowers, and turns it into a daily challenge in the way Wordle turned word guessing into one. Each day there is one game, and every player gets the identical starting tiles, the same wall to draw from and the same three opponents, named Rose, Ivy and Lily.

The game opens with the pass, where you choose three tiles to pass to a neighbour, then moves into the play: drawing, discarding and building towards one of the hands on the card. Because the luck of the deal is shared, comparing scores says something about how well each player read the tiles.

A top ten worldwide shows the best results of the day and the hand each player made, and you can create groups to compete with friends. A short welcome explains the rules for newcomers, and the hand can be sorted or dragged into order.

It is free and runs in the browser on computers and phones.
