Kinda Hard Golf is a browser golf game with a new course every day. You drag the ball to aim and let go to shoot, working your way up a tall hole and landing on flags to save your progress. Your stroke count is your score to compare with friends.

About Kinda Hard Golf

Kinda Hard Golf turns golf into a climbing game. Each day's hole is a tall, numbered course of platforms, ramps and rough patches, and the cup sits at the top. You fling the ball upward one shot at a time, and a shot that comes up short can roll a long way back down. The goal is to reach the top in as few strokes as possible, and everyone plays the same hole that day.

Controls are a single drag: pull back from the ball to aim and set power, then let go. Flags placed along the way act as checkpoints, so landing on one saves your progress if a later shot sends you tumbling. Players who want it harder can switch on Kinda Infuriating Mode, which turns the checkpoints off. Your strokes go on a leaderboard, and a Rivals feature lets you follow friends' scores directly. A calendar view keeps your daily results over time, and replays let you watch and share a round.

The game is made by James O'Halloran, who posts its changes on a blog. A map editor lets anyone build and share holes, and players can submit their maps to be picked as a future daily hole. It is free, runs in the browser on desktop and phone, and is shown with ads. It suits players who like short skill games with a score to beat and do not mind a bit of frustration.

How to play Kinda Hard Golf

  1. Open kindahardgolf.com and press Play Daily Hole.
  2. Drag back from the ball to aim and set the power, then release to shoot.
  3. Work your way up the course; land on a flag to save a checkpoint you return to if you fall.
  4. Reach the cup at the top, then compare your stroke count with friends or on the leaderboard.

Tips

  • Short controlled shots usually beat big ones: a missed long shot can drop you several platforms.
  • Aim for the next checkpoint flag before going for the top, so a slip costs less.
  • Rough tiles take speed off the ball and limit shot power, so plan to land on them rather than shoot from them.
  • Use the replay to see where a bad bounce started before you try the same line again tomorrow.
