Daily Dive
Rate itSteer a diving bird down the day's cliff to the flag, racing the clock on a course everyone shares.
Every day: One generated course a day, the same for everyone: a bird dives down a cliff to the flag at the bottom, and you try to reach it as fast as you can. The course is built from the UTC date, which the title screen shows. New puzzle: Midnight UTC.

Daily Dive is a small browser time trial made for Weekly Game Jam 132, whose theme was Deep Dive. You steer a bird diving down a cliff and try to reach the flag at the bottom as fast as you can, on a course generated anew each day from the UTC date.
About Daily Dive
Daily Dive is a quick arcade race drawn in white vector lines on black. You play a bird diving down a narrow cliff, and the goal is simply to reach the flag at the bottom in as little time as possible.
The controls are three keys: A and D move the bird left and right, and S makes it dive faster. Diving faster saves time but gives you less time to steer.
A new course is generated every day. The day is taken from UTC rather than your computer's time zone, so the date shown on the title screen can differ from your own; everyone who plays on the same UTC day gets the same course and can compare times.
The game was made by bluswimmer for Weekly Game Jam 132. The maker says it reuses some assets and code from an earlier game and, given how quickly it was made, is not very polished. It is free to play in the browser on itch.io.
How to play Daily Dive
- Open the itch page and run the game in the browser; the title screen shows today's UTC date.
- Press S to start.
- Steer the bird left and right with A and D to stay clear of the cliff.
- Hold S to dive faster, and reach the flag at the bottom in the shortest time.

Tips
- Learn the day's course on a first run, then go back and hold S on the open stretches.
- Ease off S where the course narrows, so you have time to steer around the rock.
- If the date on the title screen looks wrong, that is UTC, not your local date.
Questions
Is the Daily Dive course the same for everyone?
Yes. The course is generated from the UTC date, so everyone who plays that day races the same one.
Why does the date on the title screen not match mine?
The game uses UTC time, so near midnight it can show a different day from your own clock.
What are the controls?
A and D move left and right, and S dives faster. S also starts the game.
