HUNDO: a number between 0 and 100. How close can you get?

HUNDO is a daily estimation quiz. Every answer is a whole number between 0 and 100, from percentages to counts and ages, and you set a dial to your guess; the gap between your guess and the answer is your score, so a bullseye scores zero.

About HUNDO

HUNDO asks five questions a day, and every answer is a whole number between 0 and 100: how many keys a piano has, what percentage of something is true, how old someone was. The game says you are rarely expected to know the answer outright; the point is how close you can reason your way.

You turn a dial to your guess and lock it in. Your score for the question is the distance between your guess and the real answer, so three away scores three and a bullseye scores zero, and your round is the total of five. It takes about two minutes. Everyone playing on the same local date gets the same five questions, which is what makes comparing scores worthwhile, and a new round starts at midnight in your own time zone.

There is no account and nothing to buy. Besides the daily round, a live mode puts a code and QR on one screen so a room full of people can join from their phones and see every guess land on the same ruler when the timer stops, with your own questions if you like.

It suits people who like estimation and arguing about numbers, and works as a party game as well as a solo daily.

How to play HUNDO

  1. Open HUNDO and play today's round.
  2. Read the question; the answer is a whole number from 0 to 100.
  3. Set the dial to your guess and lock it in.
  4. See how far off you were; after five questions, your total is your score, lower being better.

Tips

  • Anchor on something you know: a related fact narrows the range quickly.
  • When unsure, aim for the middle of the plausible range to limit the damage.
  • Use live mode with friends; the spread of guesses is half the fun.
