Angler
Name the day's angle to the exact degree in four guesses.
Every day: One drawn angle a day, the same for every player, to name to the exact degree in four guesses. New puzzle: Midnight US Eastern Time, as the game's page states.

Angler is a daily angle-guessing game from Greatest Games. You see one angle, type a whole number of degrees from 1 to 359, and get an arrow for higher or lower plus a tier that says how close you were. Four guesses to hit it exactly, with points for fewer guesses and speed.
About Angler
Angler shows a single angle drawn on the screen, with a teal arc marking which side is being measured, which matters once the angle passes 180 degrees. You type a whole number from 1 to 359 and press Guess. Each guess comes back with an arrow telling you to go higher or lower and a tier telling you how far off you are: within 2 degrees, within 5, within 10, within 20, or more than 20.
Only the exact degree counts as a win, and you have four tries. The ray lengths and the way the figure is turned do not change the answer. Scoring starts at 100 points for a solve, with extra for solving in fewer guesses, for a first guess within 5 degrees, for every guess getting closer, for your streak and for finishing fast.
Angler is one of the daily puzzles on Greatest Games, published at midnight US Eastern, with an archive of past angles for players with a free account. It takes about a minute and suits anyone who likes estimation games.
How to play Angler
- Open Angler and look at the day's angle; the teal arc shows which side to measure.
- Type a whole number of degrees from 1 to 359 and press Guess.
- Read the arrow (higher or lower) and the closeness tier.
- Adjust and guess again, up to four guesses, until you hit the exact degree.
Tips
- Compare the angle with right angles and straight lines first: is it under 90, between 90 and 180, or a reflex angle over 180?
- Use the tier boundaries: after a 'within 5' guess, the answer is one of ten numbers, so split them.
- Ignore the length of the rays and the rotation of the figure; only the opening counts.
