Hop Haul
Rate itGrow a chain of neighbouring countries across the globe to haul in the most, or the fewest, of the day's measure.
Every day: Each day deals one hand for everyone: a start country, a hop budget of 7 to 12 borders, and a few closed countries. Five tabs score the chain by people, land, GDP, GDP per person or Olympic medals, each set to the most or the fewest that day. New puzzle: Midnight UTC.

Hop Haul is a daily geography puzzle from Ten Minute Games. Starting from the day's country, you spend a set number of border hops to build a chain of neighbours that collects the most or the fewest people, land, GDP or Olympic medals. Reach 90% of the best possible chain to solve it.
About Hop Haul
Hop Haul is one of the daily geography puzzles on Ten Minute Games, a small shelf of games made by Istvan Kreisz. Everyone gets the same round each day, it changes at midnight UTC, and it plays in the browser with no sign-up.
Each day deals a hand: a start country, a budget of 7 to 12 border hops, and a few closed countries that are hatched on the globe and cannot be entered. From the start country you add neighbours one at a time. The chain, which the game calls a caravan, can grow from any country it already touches, so it may branch rather than run in a single line.
The round has five tabs, each with its own measure: population, land area, GDP, GDP per person and Olympic medals. Each day says whether a tab wants the most or the fewest, so a route that is right for people can be wrong for land. Your chain is scored against the best possible one for that hand, and reaching 90% of it counts as solved.
Where games like Travle ask for the shortest route between two countries, Hop Haul is about choosing which neighbours are worth the hop. It suits players who know the map well enough to see around a closed border, and who like a puzzle with a measurable best answer. Past days stay free to play, and results and streaks are kept in your browser.
How to play Hop Haul
- Open the day's round and read the tab: which measure it collects and whether it wants the MOST or the FEWEST.
- Note the start country, the number of hops you have, and the closed countries hatched on the globe.
- Tap any country that borders your chain to add it; the chain can grow from any country it already touches.
- Double-tap a country to drop it again, or use Undo, while you look for a better route.
- Spend every hop, then press Confirm to be scored against the best possible chain; 90% of it solves the leg.
- Move to the next tab and plan a new chain for its measure, or skip a leg you cannot crack.

Tips
- On a FEWEST day, small neighbours such as microstates and island-adjacent countries are worth more than they look, so map them before you start.
- Because the chain can branch, a large country in the middle can feed several short arms instead of one long line.
- Check the closed countries first: one closed border can cut a region off and change the whole route.
- Zoom the globe in around the start country; small countries are easy to miss at full size.
Questions
What time does Hop Haul reset?
A new round starts every day at midnight UTC, and the page shows a countdown to the next one.
Do I need an account to play Hop Haul?
No. It plays in the browser with no sign-up. Results and streaks are stored only in that browser, so clearing its storage or changing device starts them again.
Can I play past days?
Yes. A day picker on the game page opens earlier rounds, and the makers say every past day stays free to play.
How is a chain scored?
Against the best possible chain for the day's hand and measure. Reaching 90% of that optimum counts as solving it.
