Hexcodle Mini
Guess the day's colour as a three-character hex code in five tries.
Every day: One new numbered colour a day, the same for every player, written as a three-character shorthand hex code that you work out in five guesses. New puzzle: Once a day, alongside the main Hexcodle.

Hexcodle Mini is the short version of Hexcodle: the target colour is written in shorthand hex, three characters instead of six. Each guess gets a tick or an arrow for every character, so you can steer towards the answer within five tries. It suits players who want a quick colour puzzle or a gentler way into the full game.
About Hexcodle Mini
Hexcodle Mini sits on the same site as Hexcodle, the daily hex code game by Hannah Larsen and Ekim Karabey. Each Mini has its own number, and past puzzles stay playable through an archive, so you can work back through earlier days.
A day starts with a box filled with the target colour. You type a three-character code such as #05D, where each character stands for the red, green or blue channel and runs from 0 to F. Your guess is painted in the Last Guess box beside the target, and the row under it shows a tick for each exact character and an arrow pointing up or down for the rest. You have five rows to get all three right, and at the end the colour's name is shown and you can share your result.
With only sixteen values per channel, the Mini is quicker and more forgiving than the six-character original, while the same Easy, Hard and Expert settings let you cut down the hints. It is a good fit for designers on a coffee break, people learning how hex colours work, and anyone who plays Hexcodle and wants a second short round.
How to play Hexcodle Mini
- Look at the target colour and judge roughly how much red, green and blue it contains.
- Type three hex characters (0 to 9, then A to F), one each for red, green and blue, and press Enter.
- Check the feedback: a tick means that character is exact, an arrow shows whether the right value is higher or lower.
- Adjust and guess again, comparing your colour in the Last Guess box with the target.
- Get all three characters within five guesses; the colour's name is shown at the end.
Tips
- Start in the middle of each channel, around 7 or 8, so the arrows halve the range quickly.
- On Easy a single arrow means you are within two steps and a double arrow means further away.
- Dark targets have low values in every channel; greys have three equal characters.

Can I play older puzzles?
Yes, the Mini has an archive of earlier numbered days.
Can I make it harder?
