A blackjack roguelike where each day's Daily Run hands everyone the same starting deck and three modifiers.

Every day: Daily Run, part of the High Stakes mode added in Update 2.0 (July 2026): each day sets a fixed starting deck and three pre-selected run modifiers, a daily global challenge where players compare how they did with the same hand. Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers gameplay: a blackjack duel with The Manager in Jack's Tavern, your bust hand of 26 against his 17, with Hit and Stand buttons

Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers is a roguelike deckbuilder made of blackjack duels, where the gap between scores is the damage dealt and a bust counts as zero. Since Update 2.0 it has a Daily Run that sets the same starting deck and three modifiers for everyone each day.

About Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers

Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers is a blackjack roguelike by Purple Moss Collectors, published by Yogscast Games and released on Steam for Windows, Mac and Linux on 8 August 2024. You work your way through a seedy tavern and beyond, challenging gambling-addicted patrons to a corrupted version of blackjack: damage is equal to the score difference, and going bust counts as zero.

Your deck starts as ordinary playing cards and soon fills with stranger ones: tarot cards, business cards, birthday cards, hall passes and hundreds more, each bending the rules of a hand. Suits matter too, with hearts healing, spades shielding, diamonds earning chips for the shop and clubs adding damage. Between fights you buy cards, remove weak ones, rest, open booster packs and play minigames.

Update 2.0, Doubling Down, arrived on 30 July 2026 with four new floors, more than fifty Lucky Charms and a High Stakes mode, unlocked after your first win. High Stakes holds Custom Runs, where you pick modifiers and type in your own seed, and the Daily Run, where the game picks a starting deck and three modifiers for the day. The developers call it the daily global challenge, and the ID card shows the daily date in place of a seed.

The publisher has announced PS5 and Nintendo Switch versions for 9 October 2026; this page covers the Steam version, where the Daily Run is confirmed.

How to play Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers

  1. Win at least one normal run to unlock High Stakes.
  2. In High Stakes, start the Daily Run to get the day's starting deck and three modifiers.
  3. Duel each foe at blackjack: hit or stand, and deal damage equal to the gap between your score and theirs.
  4. Shape your deck between fights by buying, removing and upgrading cards.
  5. Push as far through the floors as you can, then compare how your run went with other players on the same daily.

Tips

  • Read the day's three modifiers before the first hand: they can change which suits and cards are worth taking.
  • A bust counts as zero, so standing on a modest total is often safer than chasing 21.
  • Card removal is as strong as adding cards; thinning the deck makes your best cards turn up more often.
