Crosswordle (serializer.ca)
Rate itGuess two related crossing words at once, with Wordle colours and an orange for the other word.
Every day: One numbered, dated puzzle a day in each language (number 1709 on 5 October 2026): two hidden related words that cross on a shared letter, the same for everyone, with the day's scores shown after you finish. New puzzle: Once a day; the game counts down to the next puzzle but does not say at what hour.

Crosswordle is a free Wordle variant by Robert Flack in which the day's answer is two related words that cross on a shared letter. Each guess is a pair of real words, and the tiles tell you which letters are in the right place, which are in the word but misplaced, and which belong to the other word. A new numbered puzzle comes each day in English, French, Spanish and Dutch.
About Crosswordle (serializer.ca)
Crosswordle was made by Robert Flack in early 2022, in the first months of Wordle's popularity, and its code is open on GitHub. Its daily numbering starts on 30 January 2022, so each day's puzzle has a number and a date at the top of the page, and the game can be switched between English, French, Spanish and Dutch, each with its own puzzle.
The board is two words laid out like a tiny crossword, one across and one down, sharing one letter. You enter both words at once, separated by a space, and they have to be real words that share a letter. Green marks a letter in the right spot, yellow a letter in the right word but the wrong spot, and orange a letter that is in the other word. The two answers are related to each other, and a hint can be revealed if you are stuck.
After ten failed guesses the game gives you the answer. A calendar button opens the archive of past days and marks the ones you have solved, hard mode turns off the orange clues, and you can build a custom Crosswordle to send to a friend. When you finish, it shows how the day's players did.
It suits Wordle players who want a puzzle with more to deduce, where every guess gives clues about two words at once.
How to play Crosswordle (serializer.ca)
- Open the game; the day's number and date are at the top.
- Type two real words that share a letter, one for the across slot and one for the down slot, and press Enter.
- Read the tiles: green is the right place, yellow is in that word but elsewhere, orange is in the other word.
- Use the clues to narrow both words and guess again.
- Solve both words in as few guesses as you can; after ten misses the answer is shown.
Tips
- The two answers are related, so once one word is clear, think of words that go with it.
- An orange tile tells you which word a letter belongs to as well as that it is in the answer, so use guesses that test letters in both slots.
- Reveal the hint only when you are stuck: it costs nothing in the archive but helps a lot on hard days.
- Turn on hard mode for a tougher game without orange clues; it takes effect from the next puzzle.
