Every day: The Daily: five chains, the same for everyone, worth 1,000 points in all, getting longer from chain 1 to chain 5; one official score a day with a streak and a global leaderboard. New puzzle: Midnight UTC.

CHAINED is a free daily connection game in the browser. Each chain gives you a start and a goal, such as an inventor and a racing film, and you pick cards linked by real facts until you reach the goal. Five chains a day, the same for everyone, with points for matching the shortest route.
About CHAINED
CHAINED, also called PlayChained, is a browser game built around the idea that everything is connected. Every chain has a START and a GOAL, two real people, places, brands, films or teams, and you get from one to the other one card at a time. Each card is linked to the last by a documented fact: in the example on the site, Nikola Tesla leads to The Prestige, The Prestige to Christian Bale, and Christian Bale to Ford v Ferrari.
Each chain has a par, the fewest links that solve it. Matching par scores every point, and each extra link drops you a step, down to 40 percent for four or more extra links. Tapping the info button on a card to learn who or what it is costs nothing, while hints and Undo cost a share of the points, and from the 3 October 2026 Daily each chain also has a clock: the first 30 seconds are free, then points drain, up to 100 per chain. The game only shows cards that can still reach the goal within your moves, though near the end one may be a detour.
The Daily has five chains worth 1,000 points, from a 100-point chain with par 2 to a 300-point fifth chain, and it is the same for every player until it changes at midnight UTC. After each chain you read why each link holds, and at the end you get a few facts you learned and a link to challenge a friend on the same five chains. A separate Live Duel lets two to four players race a different set of chains in real time, once per UTC day.
How to play CHAINED
- Open today's CHAINED and press Play Today.
- Look at the START and the GOAL of the first chain.
- Pick a card connected to the last one by a real fact; tap the info button to learn who or what a card is.
- Keep adding links until you reach the GOAL, using Undo if you take a wrong turn.
- Finish all five chains and compare your score out of 1,000.
Tips
- Work backwards from the goal: think of what links to it, then find a route toward that.
- Use the free info button before spending points on a hint.
- The clock is free for the first 30 seconds of each chain, so plan the route early.
Questions
Is CHAINED the same for everyone?
Yes. The Daily is five chains, identical for every player, checked before it goes live and then frozen for the day.
When does a new Daily start?
Every day at midnight UTC.
How is it scored?
Matching the par of a chain scores all its points; each extra link, hint, undo and time over 30 seconds costs some, but a finished chain never scores less than 10 percent.
