Movie to Movie
Link two films through the actors they share, in as few steps as you can.
Every day: One pair of films a day, the same for every player: link the starting film to the target film through shared actors, with a countdown to the next challenge and an archive of past ones. New puzzle: 14:00 UTC (10am New York time in summer, 9am in winter), from the game's code.

Movie to Movie gives you a starting film and a target film each day. You pick an actor from the first film, then another film that actor was in, and keep going until you reach the target. The game shows the shortest possible chain, so you can see how close you came.
About Movie to Movie
Movie to Movie is a daily film-chain puzzle on movietomovie.com. Each challenge is a pair of films, a start and an end, and your job is to join them using the people who acted in them. From the starting film you choose a cast member, then one of that actor's other films, then an actor from that film, and so on until you land on the target.
The score is the distance: how many actors your chain passes through. Once you finish, the game shows the shortest path it knows for that pair, so a long route still counts as a win but you can see where a shorter link was hiding. Film and cast data come from The Movie Database (TMDB).
The daily challenge is the same for everyone and changes once a day, with a timer on the page counting down to the next one. Beyond the daily pair there is a Past Challenges list for days you missed, a random challenge button, and a Make your own mode where you pick both films yourself. Your wins are kept in a history stored on your own device, with no account.
It suits film fans who like six-degrees games: it rewards knowing character actors and ensemble casts more than release dates or box office figures.
How to play Movie to Movie
- Open movietomovie.com and start the daily challenge to see the starting film and the target film.
- Pick an actor who appeared in the starting film.
- Pick another film that actor appeared in.
- Keep alternating between an actor and one of their films until you reach the target film.
- Compare your chain with the shortest possible path the game shows at the end.
Tips
- Large ensemble films and franchise entries have long cast lists, so they make good stepping stones.
- Work backwards too: think of who is in the target film and look for a film that connects to one of them.
- Supporting and character actors often link more films than the headline stars.
- If you missed a day, play it from Past Challenges; Make your own lets you set a pair for a friend.
