Typecasted
Chain films through their actors, against the clock or in five moves.
Every day: Two daily movie modes, the same for every player: Endless gives everyone the same seed film to build the longest actor and film chain from, and Make the Cut gives everyone the same pair of films to connect in five moves or fewer. New puzzle: Midnight (the site says both modes reset at midnight daily, without naming a time zone).

Typecasted is a free daily movie trivia site with two modes. In Endless you start from the day's film and keep linking film to actor to film, with 20 seconds for each link; in Make the Cut you connect the day's two films through shared cast in five moves or fewer. Both have daily leaderboards.
About Typecasted
Typecasted is a small daily film game built on the six degrees idea, with two modes that use the same rules in different ways.
Endless gives every player the same seed film. You name an actor who was in it, then another film that actor was in, then another actor from that film, and so on, with no repeats. Each guess has a 20 second clock that resets with every correct link, and your score is the length of your chain when time runs out.
Make the Cut gives every player the same start film and destination film. There is no clock: you chain films through shared cast members until you reach the destination, and if you get there in five moves or fewer you have made the cut. Afterwards the game shows the shortest possible path and how other players solved that day's pair. Past Make the Cut puzzles are in an archive.
Both modes have daily leaderboards, and an optional account keeps your streak and history. It suits players who know cast lists well, and anyone who wants a quick timed film game next to a slower puzzle.
How to play Typecasted
- Open Typecasted and choose Endless or Make the Cut.
- In Endless, name an actor from the day's seed film, then another film of theirs, and keep the chain going.
- Beat the 20 second clock on each link; it resets after every correct answer, and no film or actor may repeat.
- In Make the Cut, link the start film to the destination through shared cast members.
- Reach the destination in five moves or fewer to make the cut, then compare your path with the shortest one.
Tips
- In Endless, keep a few prolific actors in mind as safe links when the clock is low.
- Avoid steering an Endless chain into one-off actors with short filmographies.
- In Make the Cut, look for an actor who works in both films' decades and genres before you start.
- Ensemble films with large casts make good middle steps.
