The LinkyGrid share card

FilmGrid is LinkyGrid's daily film puzzle. You place a set of film tiles on a grid so that each neighbouring pair shares a cast member, a writer or a director, and you have five attempts to find every link.

About LinkyGrid FilmGrid

LinkyGrid is a small site of daily connection puzzles, with five fresh modes every day built on countries, films, footballers and Wikipedia topics. FilmGrid gives you a tray of film tiles and an empty grid. Each pair of neighbouring tiles has to share a link: a cast member, a writer or a director. You place the tiles, press Check, and see which links hold; you have five attempts to find them all, and the found-links panel explains each connection.

Each puzzle has an Easy and a Hard version, the same for every player that day, with a new set based on your browser's time zone. You can play as a guest; signing in adds statistics, a history and a streak for the leaderboard.

The sister modes on the same site use Wikipedia articles, countries, films and World Cup players, so a player who likes one usually finds another to try next.

How to play LinkyGrid FilmGrid

  1. Open FilmGrid and choose Easy or Hard.
  2. Read the link types: shared actor, writer or director.
  3. Drag film tiles from the tray onto the grid.
  4. Press Check to see which neighbouring pairs link up.
  5. Rearrange and find every link within five attempts.

Tips

  • Look at the link types listed beside the board before you start; they tell you what counts.
  • Place the card with the most obvious connections in the middle first.
  • Switch to Hard once Easy feels quick.
